Anne Egan, P.Eng.
Manager, Onsite WastewaterMy Role and Responsibilities
My name is Anne, and I am Burnside’s onsite wastewater expert, having accumulated over 20 years of related experience. I have developed a reputation as one of the foremost onsite wastewater system specialists in Ontario, and I am often called upon to develop creative solutions for challenging sites and projects.
I have led projects for both Private and Municipal applications, and I have assisted clients with detailed design, site inspections, approvals, responsibility agreements, and operation and maintenance manuals for a variety of wastewater systems.
My experience encompasses single residential onsite sewage (i.e., septic) systems, as well as larger commercial, institutional, and private communal wastewater treatment systems that serve schools, campgrounds, and golf courses.
In addition, I have prepared numerous independent peer reviews, provided expert witness testimony, and developed alternative solutions under the Ontario Building Code’s objective-based format.
My Interests and Hobbies
I am an active member of the Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association, participating in numerous committees and serving as Director since 2014. In this role, I advocate for sound policies and design practices related to the use of onsite and decentralized wastewater infrastructure.
In my spare time, I enjoy downhill skiing and standup paddleboarding with my family, baking, making music with the Mississauga Pops Concert band, and volunteering with Girl Guides of Canada.
