My Role and Responsibilities

My name is Arunas, and I am Burnside’s Business Manager for Asset Management and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

I have been with Burnside since 1996, working on a variety of very interesting projects using cutting edge geomatics and GIS technology. A few of these projects include leading a team at Burnside on projects in collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and the American National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), both nationally and internationally.

Our team’s focus over the last 20 years has been on infrastructure asset management for both municipalities and First Nations. We have been able to provide not only detailed asset management plans but also software tools that help ensure that road-right-of-way assets are well maintained, translating into appropriate levels of service to the public.

I also lead a team of software developers who have created a premier web app used by many municipalities called Burnside Mobile. This app has helped municipalities both maintain their levels of service and avoid litigations by proving their due diligence in maintaining their infrastructure assets. Burnside Mobile is now being marketed across North America.

My Interests and Hobbies

I am a long standing member of the Canadian Network of Asset Managers.

My wife and I have three married children who have graced us with seven beautiful grandchildren. We love spending time together and enjoy many outdoor activities in all four seasons such as hiking, swimming, basketball, volleyball, golf, gardening, skiing, skating, hockey, and tobogganing.
