Deanna De Forest, B.Sc., EP
Senior Environmental CoordinatorMy Role and Responsibilities
My name is Deanna, and I am a Senior Environmental Coordinator at Burnside, with over 20 years’ experience in completing Environmental Assessments (EAs). My experience includes the coordination and management of Municipal Class EAs, Environmental Impact Studies, and Environmental Site Assessments.
As an EA Coordinator, I have completed several Municipal Class EAs for roads, bridges, and water | wastewater projects. My responsibilities on these projects include ensuring key project activities meet the objectives of the Municipal Class EA process, developing and coordinating public consultation elements, coordination with review agencies through project and approval stages, evaluating impacts, and developing mitigation measures.
My expertise also includes aquatic and terrestrial habitat assessments, soil and groundwater investigations, delineation of potential contaminants in sub-surface conditions, and reviews of existing site operations and planned development to assess the potential for environmental impacts.
My Interests and Hobbies
When not at work, I serve as a volunteer board member of Living Green Barrie, a community environmental organization that works to foster sustainability and resilience. I also volunteer as a coordinator of a community urban garden that grows fresh produce to donate to local community organizations. In my downtime, you can find me spending time outdoors with my family.
