Senior Transportation EngineerMy Role and Responsibilities
My name is Henry, and I am one of Burnside’s Senior Transportation Engineers. I am responsible for providing professional traffic and transportation services to public, private, and First Nations clients across the full range of travel modes. I have also provided project management expertise on varied civil engineering projects, including land development, municipal servicing, sewage treatment, and drainage.
For over 30 years, I have developed my expertise in transportation planning and design, supporting our multi-disciplinary teams in the areas of traffic impact studies, transportation master plans, transit studies, Environmental Assessment studies, road needs | asset management studies, and peer review services. Additionally, I have been able to integrate various software models into the delivery of our transportation services.
As my career has developed, I have had the pleasure to be involved in a diverse range of projects, from Metrolinx rail line expansions, to winter road work in remote fly-in areas, to peer review work of the transportation facilities associated with a potential nuclear waste deep rock depository, as well as the daily production of transportation | traffic studies for private clients and peer review services for numerous municipal clients.
I am qualified under the Ministry of Transportation’s Registry, Appraisal and Qualification System (RAQS) for the completion of traffic impact studies affecting Provincial highways, and I am frequently called upon to be an expert witness in Ontario Land Tribunal cases.
My Interests and Hobbies
Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, running, golfing, skiing, tennis, and pickleball, sharing these activities with my eight grandchildren. I am also actively involved in my community, including coaching soccer, serving on a municipal active transportation committee, and serving as an elder on the board of my church.
