H.T. Lam, OALA, CSLA
Principal Senior Landscape ArchitectMy Role and Responsibilities
My name is H.T., and I am a Landscape Architect at Burnside with many years of experience in the public and private sectors. The breadth of my assignments includes parks and open spaces, urban design, streetscapes, trails, and many aspects of land development, our scope for which has consisted of master plans, concept development, detailed design, and construction administration.
My professional interests include natural heritage protection and ecological restoration designs with climate adaptive solutions for public safety, and to protect private and public assets through meaningful environmental design solutions. My goal for these projects is to help our clients develop sustainable communities and public realms through meaningful collaboration and engagement practices.
I entered the field of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design to collaborate with like-minded leaders in community building and development to envision and realize the future of placemaking. I firmly believe that through thoughtful and purposeful designs, we can create successful solutions to adapt places where we live, work, and play while protecting sustainable environments and ecological systems.
My Interests and Hobbies
Outside of the office, I volunteer as a reviewer and mentor on the Associate Member Professional Development Program for the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects, to guide and develop full members to the practice to support current demands in the field.
I enjoy giving back to the community through in-kind projects such as the Fountain of Memories in Elmira, participating in annual Earth Day tree planting events, and supporting local schools with the design of outdoor classrooms and naturalization programs.
