Mark Humphries, C.E.T.
Senior Project Manager | Newmarket Branch ManagerMy Role and Responsibilities
My name is Mark, and I am a Civil Engineering Technologist and Senior Project Manager with experience in design, project management, tender preparation, and contract administration for a variety of engineering projects. I am also Branch Manager of Burnside’s Newmarket office.
I joined Burnside in 1990, where I began by providing municipal engineering services to small municipalities around the Orangeville area. Following this, I began a long stretch of capital projects for the City of Richmond Hill, as well as peer review services for the Town of Newmarket and surrounding municipalities.
I have worked on numerous capital projects involving watermain replacements through to full road reconstruction. I have also worked on projects involving storm water management pond retrofits. On the peer review side, I have been involved on the construction administration side for numerous site plans and subdivisions, from the start of earthworks through to assumption or acceptance of the subdivision or site plan.
One of my most recent projects was a full watermain placement and abandonment of the existing watermain on Major Mackenzie Drive West between Bathurst and Yonge Streets for the City of Richmond Hill, a project that was awarded Project of the Year from the Ontario Public Works Association in 2022.
My Interests and Hobbies
When not at work, I enjoy outdoor activities, woodworking, and gardening. I also enjoy watching and travelling to motorsports events.
