When Bob Burnside started the business back in 1970, he believed he could do engineering by serving local clients he respected and cared about. He was proud of, and committed to, improving the local communities and he knew his clients were as well. He understood it was critical to care about both staff and his clients. His personal values and practices that were a part of the culture in the early days of doing business remain an integral part of how we operate and interact internally and with our clients today. We remain both staff-focused and caring about our clients to this day, striving to provide exceptional service and value to our clients and a positive and rewarding work environment for our staff.
At Burnside, we prioritize positive and meaningful relationships, shared values and a sense of common purpose. This is demonstrated on a daily basis in the way we treat each other with care and consideration. There is a balance between doing great engineering work but also having fun while we’re doing it and never forgetting the fact that this is a people business and we have to maintain that humanity as we do our engineering.
We are a very broad and diverse organization that offers technical, client relationship and management paths across multiple client sectors and engineering services. We are employee owned, with a one-firm mentality. We share, we collaborate, and we make decisions for the long-term advantage of our organization. We believe this practice is one of the many reasons our firm has been successful for the past 50+ years. We look for opportunities where we can expand into new services, providing more solutions for our diverse clients.
